Introductory Course in Saddle Fitting
(Formerly known as the 'Foundation Course in Saddle Fitting')


Venue:                              Moulton College, Northamptonshire


Length of course:              2 days


Dates:                               25th and 26th of October  (Subject to sufficient applications)


Object of the course:

To make available the basic principles of the SMS recommended saddle fitting system to members of the equestrian industry.

 

 

Criteria for attendance:

 

Candidates must be one of the following:

  1. In full time employment with a fully paid up member of the Society of Master Saddlers (UK) Ltd or be a member in their own right.
  2. In full time employment with a fully paid up retail member of The British Equestrian Trade Association or be a member in their own right.
  3. Registered Farrier or hoof-care practitioner.
  4. Veterinary Surgeon.
  5. Chartered Physiotherapist.
  6. BHS AI, II, I or Fellow.
  7. Other equestrian related professional
  8. An overseas retailer customer of a Society of Master Saddlers trade member.

 

 

Fees:                SMS Members                             £295-00 + VAT@17.5%

                        BETA Members & BHS Instructors   £330-00 + VAT@17.5%

Others                                       £360-00 + VAT@17.5%

 

(Members of the British Equestrian Trade Association may be eligible for a further discount and should contact BETA for more information.)

 

 

Fee Includes:     Two full days of theory and practical lectures. Tuition and meals.


(Accommodation is not included and a list of local Bed & Breakfast establishments will be provided.)

 

 

Please note: This course does not lead to a qualification but a certificate of attendance will be awarded on completion.  Eligible candidates may then proceed to the Society’s City & Guilds Certificate in Saddle Fitting.
