Members' Qualified Saddle Fitters Course

Leading to assessment for the Society’s City & Guilds Certificate in Saddle Fitting

      4 days tuition and one of assessment.

Object of the course:

To make available the advanced principles of the SMS recommended saddle fitting system to members of the Society of Master Saddlers (UK) Ltd and their employees and offer assessment for the Society’s City & Guilds Certificate in Saddle Fitting.


Criteria for attendance:

Candidates must fulfil all of the following criteria:

i.       Be in full time employment with a fully paid up member of the Society of Master Saddlers (UK) Ltd or be a member in their own right as a qualified saddler or higher.

 

ii.    Have at least 3 years’ experience in saddle fitting.

iii.  Previous attendance of the Introductory Course in saddle fitting is required.

iv.  At least one year to have elapsed between attendance of Introductory Course and Qualification course.

Written paper
Conformation & Action in Hand
Saddle Assessment and Fault Identification
Taking Template measurements
Practical Saddle Fitting
