Introductory Bridle Fitting Course

Saturday 25th April  (Waiting list in operation)

DATR Headquarters, Melton Mowbray

One day course covering theory and practical lectures on measuring and fitting bridles and different styles, including lorinery and horse’s head anatomy.  Mandatory for those wishing to advance to the Qualified Bridle Fitters’ Course.


Tools Module – ‘Different Tools for Different Jobs’

Cirencester Saddlers, The Old Kennels Workshop, Cirencester, GL7 1UR

Monday 4th May, 10.30am

The day will cover alternative working techniques and tool sharpening including:

•    making the most out of your tools
•    alternative methods for hidden stitching and raised and rolled work
•    making a leather strop
•    demonstration of electric sharpeners
•    health and safety (how not to lose a finger!)

Advanced Bridle Techniques for bridle & harness

A day for saddlers to improve the quality and finish of their work including:

•    improving finishing
•    improving stitching
•    embellishment techniques
•    selecting materials
