SMS Marketing/Media & Partnerships Coordinator – Primarily home working

We have a fabulous opportunity for a Marketing/Media and Partnerships Coordinator to join Team SMS and support the Society’s Marketing and Partnerships function. You will be required to:
  • Work alongside the Chief Executive and the Marketing Sub Committee to plan and deliver actions in accordance with the Society’s strategic vision and roadmap
  • Liaise with TSM Marketing & PR to develop and coordinate marketing campaigns for the Society. To include social media, print, e-mailing.
  • Manage the company’s website & social media pages
  • Work alongside other sub committees (such as Conference, Research & Modules SC), as well as other executives and officers to bring marketing efforts to realization.
  • Represent the Society at events such as BETA trade fair, Career events
  • Assist with webinar delivery and support
  • Liaise with British Equestrian bodies, other allied partners and training organisations, managing delivery of Society demonstrations and talks.
  • File regular reports to the Executive Board

The successful candidate will:
  • Have a good level of equine knowledge and previous experience working within the equine industry would be beneficial
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the organisation’s activities
  • Have good communication skills and confidence to liaise with multiple stakeholders across the organisation and beyond
  • Be disciplined and self-motivated
  • Have a good knowledge on the functionality and application of social media platforms, word press, zoom as well as excellent computer skills
  • CIM qualification(s) or similar are desirable but not essential

The role:
  • 24 hours per week – scheduled as required
  • Primarily remote working from home
  • Laptop and phone provided
  • Will require some evening work – such as a sub-committee meeting 7pm – 9pm or webinar delivery/support
  • Event attendance – such as Beta Trade show, Careers events and some riding public events. May include occasional weekend work.
  • Salary dependent on experience, guide between £16,000 - £18,000

Hong Kong Jockey Club job opportunity

The Department
The Equestrian Affairs Department aims to fulfil the Club’s vision to promote riding as a sport and raise participation at all levels, from beginner through to elite. It oversees the management of four equestrian centres, including the Member’s facility at the Beas River Country Club and three public riding schools at Tuen Mun, Pok Fu Lam and Lei Yue Mun. The Beas River Equestrian Centre, being the largest in Hong Kong, houses 257 horses and provides world class facilities including a riding school, livery yard, competition centre, rehabilitation and retraining unit, as well as a spelling unit for Hong Kong’s racehorses.

The Job. 
You will: 
  • Provide a full range of saddlery support services to all of the HKJC riding schools, private riding schools and associated partners as required
  • Provide advice and services relating to saddle selection and fitting, as well as other tack related matters to Members and livery clients as needed
  • Undertake repair and maintenance of all saddlery items to ensure safety and efficient use of resources
  • Advise on the purchase of saddlery items to ensure suitability, quality and cost efficiency
  • Ensure suitable, well-fitting equipment is used on all horses to maintain excellent horse care
  • Perform quarterly checks on all school horses’ tack, adjust, refit bridles and adjust, re-flock saddles as necessary, keeping suitable records and providing reports to the Chief Riding Instructors
  • Work closely with the Equestrian Veterinary team to provide advice on horses with back issues
  • Maintain adequate stock of repair items, along with ensuring appropriate stock control measures in place and records are maintained
  • Undertake training of apprentice saddlers to develop their skills towards achieving accreditation and becoming professional saddlers
  • Undertake training of riding instructors and stable staff in the area of advanced saddle and equipment fitting
  • Deliver seminars or lectures on saddlery related topics to Youth Squad Athletes, Staff, Members, and General Public etc. as directed by the CRI
  • Collaborate with saddlers from Racing Operations, to share best practice, knowledge exchange etc.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by Management

About You
  • Be a qualified saddler with at least five years’ experience
  • Be a qualified and experienced saddle fitter
  • Be a team player but able to work on own initiative
  • Perform duties to the highest standards in efficient work manner
  • Deliver the highest standards of customer service at all times to internal & external stakeholders
  • Preferably be a fluent speaker of English; an understanding of Cantonese will be an advantage, but not essential

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

Saddle Fitter

We have a great opportunity for a knowledgeable and experienced Saddle Fitter to join the Hope Valley Saddlery Team, to lead a growing department within a successful and well established business.

We offer a mobile saddle fitting service as well as having excellent on-site facilities to carry out fittings.  The ideal candidate would be a qualified bench saddler who also has extensive saddle fitting experience, ideally being a QSF, however we would consider a candidate who does not currently hold a qualification if they can demonstrate good saddle fitting knowledge.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work on their own as well as part of a small team, with exceptional customer service skills.  The position will involve both bench saddlery work and saddle fitting. 
Hours negotiable; this position could be available on a full time or part time basis - finding the right person is paramount.  We will provide access to an expansive stock range as well as a well-equipped company vehicle for saddle fitting appointments.

Pay based on experience and qualifications. Position is based at our Somerford Park Farm Store, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 4SW, however travelling to appointments each day is required.
