Bench Saddler / Saddle Fitter to work alongside a Master Saddler and 2 SMS Qualified Saddle Fitters
An opportunity to join S. Milner & Son, an established, well known family run saddlery business in the heart of Leicestershire. We offer our customers an honest, high quality saddle fitting service, whether we are checking their own saddles or fitting a new one. We offer a mobile saddle fitting service as well as having excellent on-site facilities to carry out the job. Our on-site workshop is managed by a Master Saddler who has been with us for over 40 years and whose quality of craftsmanship is exceptional. Our workshop takes on tack and other leather good repairs as well as making our own made to measure bridle work.
The ideal candidate would be a qualified bench saddler who also has extensive saddle fitting experience, ideally being a QSF, however we would consider a candidate who does not currently hold a qualification if they can demonstrate good saddle fitting knowledge.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work on their own as well as part of a small team, with great customer service skills. The position will involve both bench saddlery work and saddle fitting. This position could be available on a full time or part time basis – finding the right person is more important. We will provide access to a company vehicle for saddle fitting appointments.

Qualified Saddle Fitter
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our existing team, covering appointments throughout Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. We are currently looking for a Qualified Saddle Fitter to join us from our base in Exeter, Devon, covering appointments across the Southwest.
Nutwell Saddlery is one of the largest Society of Master Saddlers approved saddle retailers and fitters in the South West, renowned for its superb facilities and service. Established in 2005, we offer a fully mobile service providing new saddles as well as a remedial saddle fitting service. Our current team consists of three Society of Master Saddlers Qualified Saddle Fitters and our onsite Master Saddler, who are supported fully by our dedicated office team.
The successful candidate must be qualified or near gaining their qualification, hardworking with a real passion for what we do. Our package includes a competitive salary based on experience, use of a company van for all appointments, phone, professional membership fees and company pension.
This position is ideally full time; however, we are happy to discuss any part time requirements.

This role could be part or full time with hours to be agreed and we can be flexible but will include 2 Saturday’s per month. You may be required to work away at trade shows, salary depending on age and experience and generous staff discounts.

My name is Katja and I´m a very passionate and hardworking person looking for a position where I can finish my training as a saddle fitter.
I´m finishing my level 3 qualifications in bridle and saddle making this January. My next goal is to become a qualified saddle fitter. I have completed the SMS flocking course and passed the exam in August 2018. I also completed the introductory fitting course in 2017. In 2017 I finished the 2 year Cordwiners course at Capel Manor College, where I passed my level 1 and 2 in saddle, harness and bridle making.
As a person I´m a competent, loyal, smiley employee with the ability to achieve tasks when working alone or as part of a team. I´m a quick learner and have a very high standard in my work. I have been riding for 15 years and competed in all disciplines from dressage, jumping and a bit of eventing.
The last 19 months I have been working on my own on leatherwork commissions, but I´m ready to take the next step and would love to do more saddle fitting in the future. I don’t have any specific area or country where I want to go, so please contact me if you are looking for a trainee saddle fitter or if you know of anyone looking for someone like me.
