Saddles Direct: Vacancy for a Saddle Fitter / Consultant.


Saddles Direct established 2006 is the UK’s largest distributor of used saddles in the UK. We are one of the only to offer a free trial service on all new and used saddles online and in store from our base at Crow Wood Equestrian in Burnley.  The company has grown and diversified significantly over the past few years now offering Nationwide Saddle fitting services, our own brand or high quality saddles. We also have a bit bank and offer a selection of bespoke riding boots and hats.

Due to continued growth we are looking for a motivated, positive and hard-working individual to take on the role of Saddle Fitter / Consultant.   The successful candidate must be tenacious and customer focused with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Our philosophy is to help deliver to our customers the very best customer service experience and Saddle Fitting advice.


•To ensure all our customers in all situations have an exceptional experience with the saddles direct brand. 
•Help customers choose the right saddles to trial in store and online, we have a huge volume of customers needing saddle fitting advice over the telephone, by email and in store.
•Deliver the complete sales cycle, from the potential customer's initial enquiry to the close of sale and further on-selling with saddle fitting accessories etc. 
•Develop, maintain and nurture relationships with existing and potential customers, to identify sales opportunities. 
•Create and implement improved sales plans.
•Meet and exceed current and monthly revenue targets
•Maintain a high performance work ethic in line with company values and management expectations
•Excellent administration skills with high attention to detail and the ability to multi task


Great people skills, friendly, hard-working, outgoing, honest with a can do attitude. 


Equestrian knowledge and Saddle Fitting experience is essential. Retail experience especially in regards to consumer rights is preferred although not essential. 

This role could be part or full time with hours to be agreed and we can be flexible but will include 2 Saturday’s per month. You may be required to work away at trade shows, salary depending on age and experience and generous staff discounts.

English Bridles has a vacancy for a qualified saddler with machine skills.  The workshop machine is a Durkopp Adler 869 which has an air compressor.  The workshop is situated close to Alcester, Warwickshire.   Most of the work is bridlework .  There is flexibility regarding hours.   Excellent rate per hour depending on experience.  Contact:   info@englishbridles.co.uk

Part-Time qualified saddler is required for bridle work and alterations one or two days a week.  There is flexibility regarding which days are worked but it must be arranged a week in advance.  They will do alterations to bridles and be able to make a flat hunter bridle.  They will be able to repair and alter equestrian equipment.  No saddle work.  The work is to be carried out in our workshop, which is situated close to Alcester, Warwickshire.  £15 an hour with the prospect of bonuses.  Contact:   info@englishbridles.co.uk
